Exercises for the Trap Muscles

Shrugs

Execution:

Shrugs can be done using either a barbell or dumbbell, the choice is yours. It is best to use both methods, just change periodically.

  1. Grab a barbell about shoulder width apart. 

  2. Rest barbell on your upper thighs.

  3. Pull your shoulders up as if you were trying to touch your ears with your shoulders.

  4. Hold at the top for about 1 second and lower your shoulders.

  5. Repeat for recommended number of reps.
