Gone but NOT Forgotten! My tribute to Dr. Siff
We have lost a truly great man. Dr. Siff was a leading sports scientist, but unlike most scientists, Siff was open to anyone who wanted to learn more about the iron game. Dr. Siff spent tireless hours exposing myths for what they were and helped others to become more analytical as well. I met Dr. Siff about 6 years ago and learned more from him than any course or combination of courses. I doubt there will ever be another person with his desire to help others and the intense dedication to keep everyone honest. If you are not familiar with Dr. Siff, I would suggest you join the Supertraining group and search the archives.
Dr. Siff helped with Youronlinefitness.com. I have many articles by Dr. Siff and I will continue to add them every month to keep his work alive. In addition, I will be offering Supertraining and Facts and Fallacies of Fitness as soon as I can. RIP Dr. Siff you will be missed.
For those interested, here is a letter I received from Mels' e-mail recently:

The cause of Mel's death is still unknown, but may have been a heart attack.
The Family has made the folowing funeral arrangements:
location: South Holly Baptist Church. 7101 S Holly Street. Centennial Co , 80122 Date/Time: March 29 2003 at 2:00pm.
The Family is requesting: Please do not send flowers make a donation to your favorite local charity.
For those who may have signed up for Supertraining camps (April 11-13, May 16-18), regrettably these must be cancelled. - There is no one who can replace Mel.
Regarding the Supertraining Group on Yahoo, we are arranging to have John Gray take over responsibility for monitoring and maintainance, as soon as the paperwork can be completed. In the mean time the postings will stack up until the limit is reached, at which point they will be rejected. Please bear with us till we get the legalities worked out. If you wish to contact John, his email is: email@example.com
Lisa has been in Craig Hospital, in Denver since Mel's death and has just recently returned home. If you would like to contact her, her email is firstname.lastname@example.org It may be a while before she is able to respond.
If you wish to contact me, my email is: email@example.com Essentially all that I know at present is in this message.
We have lost a good friend and a true expert in strength conditioning and
in many related areas. We shall miss his knowledge, his wisdom, his logic and his sense of humor. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his wife
Lisa, his sister Isabell and the rest of his family. My the Lord keep him in
the palm of his hand and grant him peace.
PS. we greatly apologize if this message gets to you more than once.
