Reading lists and suggested books?

7 posts in this topic

I am just curious as to the books you have read. I will give my top list of books, starting from my favorite to the least favorite:

  1. Supertraining by Dr. Mel Siff
  2. Science and Practice of Strength Training by Dr. Zatsiorsky
  3. Smart Exercise by Covert Baily
  4. Fitness The Complete Guide by Dr. Fred Hatfield (ISSA course book)
  5. Understanding Nutrition by Whitney and Rolfes (college test)
  6. Explosive Running by Dr Yessis
  7. Kinesiology of Exercise by Dr. Yessis
  8. The Complete Book of Personal Training by Brooks. I really hated this manual, but it was a certification course book. The majority of the book is useless and repeated content.
I have a lot more on alternative medicine, but I think this is good enough for the fitness books. :12EMOTICHEERS:

Wow!! that's a huge no. of books, I would like to check out no. 6 Explosive Running by Dr Yessis since I'm into running. Well, as for me, I've read much online rather than books.

Explosive Running is a great book to read if you want to learn proper sprinting techniques and how to improve your sprinting speed.

My favorite book is Strength Training Anatomy 2nd Edition. It explains the proper form of every exercise and exactly shows which muscles are activated during each exercise. I recommend it to everyone who is interested in bodybuilding. There are no similar books with so high level of quality as Strength Training Anatomy 2nd Edition.
