Consumption of Aminos and Carbs before exercise is better for muscle growth.

In a study conducted at the University Of Texas,  scientists tested the results of eating Amino Acids and Carbohydrates immediately before and immediately after exercise and the anabolic response. The study showed that those who consumed aminos and carbs immediately before greatly increased the amount of aminos in the blood during exercise and for up to an hour after exercise. In addition, protein synthesis was greater for those who consumed the Amino's and Carbohydrates immediately before exercise. OUR CONCLUSION: Take your protein before you exercise. STUDY CONCERNS: Sample size was only 6, very small and more studies with a bigger sample size is needed to fully prove such a claim. Short term Weightlifting increases positive body image and improves body satisfaction.

A study conducted at the Department of Psychology, University of Houston, Houston, Texas 2001, has shown that after six weeks of circuit weightlifting, the participants showed an improved body image and body satisfaction over the control group. In addition, the circuit training group showed increases in strength. OUR CONCLUSION: Lifting weights improves your psychological outlook on your body image and increases your strength. Lack of physical activity and a lazy father or male guardian is likely cause of child obesity. 

Scientists at the School of Human Movement Studies, The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia studied the effects of physical activity on childhood obesity. The study found that obese children were far less physically active and were less likely to engage in community organizations that were physically active. In addition, the obese children were less likely to report their father or male guardian as physically active. OUR CONCLUSION: Get your child involved with physically active community programs in order to help them become healthy. Andro has no effect on body composition, mood, or exercise performance.

Subjects who were given 100 mg of 19-nor-4-androstene-3 17-dione (N-dione) and 56 mg of 19-nor-4-androstene-3,17-diol (N-diol; 156 mg total norsteroid per day), or a placebo showed no affect in body composition, mood or exercise according to a study conducted at University of Nebraska, Human Performance Laboratory, Kearney, NE 68849, USA. The subjects were previously trained and were put on an 8 week exercise program. OUR CONCLUSION: Andro does not seem to have any positive effects on mood, body composition, or exercise performance, and may be a complete waste of money. Elderly and Frail? Progressive resistance training shows positive results for the recovering frail elderly.

A study conducted at the Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center, Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (DHS), Little Rock 72205, USA studied the effect of progressive resistance training on 19 recuperating frail elderly over the age of 64. The results are positive to say the least. One repetition increased max by 74%, sit to stand maneuvers improved by 79%, walking speeds increased by 53%, and four of the six who were unable to previously unable to move about, gained to ability to move about freely. None of the subjects experienced injury. OUR CONCLUSION: Exercise can aid in recovery and help the elderly become more independent and able to move about freely.
